E & L P Norton gets paid by

 Check dated June 6th 1879 

     This check was found in a  lot of twenty six 1870's cancelled checks written by a W. H. Palmer Chatham Village New York to various businesses one of which is to the famous stoneware manufactured E & L P Norton Bennington Vermont. The checks measure approximately 6 1/2" by 2 3/4" and each has the printed 2 cent Internal Revenue Stamp at the center. They have a spindle hole at center of each which is typical.
